Mikaere Gardiner a.k.a rip Eno is a young Aotearoa New Zealand street artist based in New Plymouth. He is currently undertaking the Boehme residency north of Vienna, Austria where he has been commisioned to paint a mural on a large historic building built in 1335. Culturally charged metaphors and references are used throughout his work to explore the spaces between worlds. "The idea of kaitiakitanga for me suggests concepts of tapu & noa, questions of colonialism, cultural identity, Maori spirituality, life and death."

He uses a combination of mixed media for his gallery shows that develop his current practice within new media installation.
